Talked a good friend last night. He is about to change his life by taking up cycling and riding the Livestrong challenge in Philly. I am so excited for him. It’s going to be great for him and his family. Really proud of you Mike!!

Went back to the 24 hours of Booty again this year. Was a great time. This time, I didn’t go alone (always a plus). There were several people with team Grab My Wheel making for a fun event. Thanks again to Tom for bringing the coach down! “camping” in a air conditioned motor coach that is as big as a grey hound is the way to go for sure :). I only rode a 100 or so this year. Was a good ride, just tired from the days before booty. My wife did great in riding a 100K. Hats off to Ian for making the 203 mark! Next year, we will head back, but also to Hot-Lanta!! Booty has expanded!! Which is normally a bad thing, but not in this case.

OUCH!
Went to the indoor trainer class last night at CSH. I had already been to the gym to do a 5K hill run on the treadmill as well. Was just finished with the first 8 minute time trail piece that Darren had us do when it felt like a dog just clamped down on my calf! Holy crap those things hurt! Never had a cramp in my calf before… Darren was like “Lift your toes up” and all I can think was “You assume I can move my foot?” Even today, there is still a knot in my calf. No worries, I got two legs.

I woke up Saturday morning, made some coffee, sat down on the big chair waiting for the weather to come up to help me decide what gear to wear. The number 21 degrees came up. I changed the channel thinking that they were covering the mid west.. NO!! It was 21 degrees here this weekend? Give me some global warming already!!! Went running later that afternoon (which hit over 50 go figure). Sunday…. more of the same, just add rain and 20 something mile an hour of winds… Bummer for a ride this weekend.

Went out this weekend for a couple days of riding. Nothing fast, cause I am not fast right now, but a great time. Cold, but good. I totally need a new set of legs warmers though. The elastic in one leg is gone… So, about 20 miles in I start having to pull the leg back up.. never seems to fail that I alway leave one small spot of skin exposed though… so sad

Entered and completed my third Krispy Kreme Challenge on the 7th. Was a lot of fun, except I could not breathe! Oh well, still finished in under 60 minutes. My friend Casey came down for the run as well. Was great to see him and his wife. not to mention Anna, their daughter who is as cute as a button. Looking forward to next year and hoping that I will be healthy for it. PS, 5200 runners this year…. that is a lot of doughnuts.

I have a cold… It sucks. The Krispy Kreme Challenge is going to be interesting the weekend. 4 miles, 12 doughnuts and a bunch of cold medicine… I am going to literally run into something. I hope it is soft..
